New Energy product qualifies for retrofit incentive
RenewABILITY Energy Inc., announced that its Power-Pipe
Drain Water Heat Recovery systems qualify for the Ontario Power Authority’s
Electricity Retrofit Incentive Program (ERIP).

Drain Water Heat Recovery systems qualify for the Ontario Power Authority’s
Electricity Retrofit Incentive Program (ERIP).
The
ERIP targets commercial and industrial businesses throughout Ontario. Expected
applications for the ERIP incentive include: apartment buildings, condo
buildings, hotels, universities, laundry facilities, salons, spas, farms, and

“Most people don’t realize water heating is the second largest energy demand in
Canadian multi-unit residential homes and a huge cost for businesses.
Specifically, water heating for cleaning, washing and processing accounts for a
significant amount of the energy used in commercial and institutional
operations,” notes Gerald Van Decker, president and CEO of RenewABILITY Energy.
“Power-Pipe systems can cost-effectively reduce water heating costs
by up to 60 per cent in commercial and industrial operations depending on the
application and the amount of warm water used.”
Van Decker went on to say that “the OPA’s Electricity Retrofit Incentive
Program (ERIP) offers incentives to replace existing electric service water
heating equipment with alternative energy sources, including drain water heat
recovery systems, solar water heaters, and switching to high efficiency natural
gas water heaters. The OPA’s $250.00 incentive per Power-Pipe will reduce
system payback by about 20 per cent in the one to four year range for most
applications.

Power-Pipe systems also qualify for the Federal Eco-Energy retrofit incentive program.
