New API integrates restaurant head office systems with SpeedLine POS
Restaurant point of sale vendor SpeedLine Solutions, Inc., introduced the new SpeedLink File API, a comprehensive developers toolkit for integrating third-party systems with the SpeedLine POS.
Multi-unit restaurant companies can use the new API to develop custom interfaces to the systems they use at head office for accounting, purchasing, marketing, HR, and payroll. The results are less time collecting and re-entering data, timelier and more accurate reporting, and more time to focus on the core business.
“Most enterprise reporting systems provide only summary data from the stores,” noted SpeedLine vice-president of development Terry Haan. “The SpeedLink File API gives multi-unit restaurant companies easy access to virtually all transaction detail for a day’s business: including sales, customer and employee details, inventory data, and forecasts.”
A key component of the SpeedLink Enterprise? suite of products, the new API helps developers tap into the open architecture of the SpeedLine software to design seamless integrations between a chain’s key management systems and the SpeedLine POS systems in their restaurants.
The new API extends the choices available to multi-unit restaurant operators for collecting, analyzing, and sharing data. They may choose to use some or all of SpeedLine’s above store tools, or they can use this API to link their own head office systems directly with the restaurants.
