“There are already lots of leaflets and books,” said Cone, but “using a DVD to learn napkin folds is quicker, easier and faster.”
Cutting down on training time is a constant challenge for operators in the restaurant industry.
“As staff move from business to business at a high rate and with the summer work force of college and university students, the requirement to get the basics of good service taught quickly is essential,” added Cone.
He suggested operators use the video to accelerate training, as an aptitude test for applicants, and to raise the profile of the restaurant as employees upgrade to more exotic and decorative napkins.
