Little Engine Wines of Penticon, B.C., sells a sample set of win to help Canadians discover and sample wines and support a local artisan winery during travel-restricted times.
Little Engine Wines, a family-owned and -operated winery producing wines on the Naramata Bench of British Columbia, has launched their Piccolo Virtual Tasting Collection.
The collection includes 200-millilitre bottles of Little Engine Gold Series Wines – Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Merlot – and comes with a link to professionally produced, five-minute virtual tasting videos featuring the company’s winemaker Scott Robinson.
An additional 25 acres of managed production, composed of key varietals of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Merlot and Sauvignon Blanc, are grown throughout the South Okanagan Valley. By focusing on sustainable vineyard practices, precise canopy management and low crop tonnage, Little Engine produces intensely concentrated fruit. Grapes are hand-picked in small passes, selected based on flavour profiles, and then blended for balance and style. In the cellar, the emphasis is on slow, cool fermentations, gentle maceration using minimal intervention winemaking methods, and a refined French Oak barrel program.
The winery distributes wholesale to restaurants in the provinces that allow them to do so via their applicable liquor boards, i.e. B.C., Alberta and Manitoba.
