May 6, 2013 – Jones Soda Co. has released poutine-flavoured Jones Soda exclusively in its Canadian markets.
The company says its poutine-flavoured Jones Soda is based on the
quintessential Canadian dish made with French fries, brown gravy, and
cheese curds, and is being released as Jones Soda’s latest limited
edition flavour.
“We decided to create this new, unique flavour as a nod to our Canadian
heritage," commented Andrew
Baumann, Jones Soda’s marketing and social media manager, who describes the beverage as "a nice balance of rich, savory gravy over a starchy
potato base, and accented with those fatty, cheesy notes you expect in a
plate of poutine."
The poutine flavour will be available in select regions across Canada
and most notably in Quebec, where poutine was invented in the 1950s, as
well as Ontario and Vancouver.
