Innovative specialty flour mill opens in Quebec

Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Que. – The Meunerie Milanaise (La Milanaise) recently began production in its new flour and specialty organic products mill in St-Jean-sur-Richelieu, the Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada said in a news release.

Parliamentary Secretary Jean-Claude Poissant, on behalf of the Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food, Lawrence MacAulay, extended his congratulations to the mill at the official opening on June 16.

A $5.8 million repayable contribution under the federal Growing Forward 2 program. La Milanaise used the funds for construction and to increase production of flour and specialty organic products.
