Truro, N.S. – Atlantic pizza chain Greco Pizza has donated more than 3,700 pizzas, which have a $50,000 value, to provincial food banks in Atlantic Canada through its “Share and Care” promotion.
The promotion was carried out in January and June of this year in partnership with the food banks, Feed Nova Scotia, P.E.I. Food Banks, New Brunswick Association of Food Banks, and Community Food Sharing Association in Newfoundland and Labrador, said Grinner’s Food Systems Limited, franchisor of Greco Pizza, in a news release.
“Our franchisees are very active in the communities they both live and work in and stand behind their commitment to support their neighbors in time of need,” said Don Moore, president of Grinner’s Food Systems Limited. “It is through the generosity and support of Greco customers and Franchisees that made this campaign such a huge success.”
Food banks in Atlantic Canada are dedicated to helping thousands of people who turn to them for help each year, not only during the holidays but also in the summer, the release said.
“We are incredibly grateful for all the support Greco Pizza Franchisees have shown us in 2018, 3,700 pizzas will feed a lot of families in Atlantic Canada. We look forward to partnering on future promotions with an established Atlantic Canadian business like Greco Pizza,” said Greg Doucet, provincial food director, New Brunswick Association of Food Banks.
