Famoso rebrands, focuses on table service

Vancouver – Famoso Inc. is promoting a new brand identity and mission to create social gathering spaces in part by focusing on table service. All franchises moving forward will be known as Famoso Pizzeria + Bar.
In new Famoso franchises, guests can expect to find a social gathering space that stays true to the vibrant atmosphere commonly found in real Italian pizzerias, Famoso said in a news release. Elements include a central bar with high-definition televisions, innovative kitchen facilities andupdated signage.
“When we opened the first Famoso location in 2007, we were just three guys with a dream of bringing the authentic Italian pizzeria experience to Canada,” said Justin Lussier, chief executive officer and one of the co-founders of Famoso Inc. “While restaurants in North America are already used by many as a social gathering spot, the pizzerias in Italy take the social aspect to another level – where guests are more like family, and are encouraged to really make the restaurant feel like home. Our rebrand aims to make this integral social experience commonplace and a signature differentiator of the Famoso brand.”
The new brand is a significant departure from the company’s first location in Edmonton, which originally focused on offering counter service as opposed to today’s tableside delivery. Since the switch to tableside service at all locations just over one year ago, Famoso has witnessed a significant shift in its dining experience, prompting the decision to adopt a pizzeria and bar identity.
“We are excited to continue our expansion with the opening of our 30th franchised location, Famoso Eastgate in Regina, later this month,” Lussier said. “Our ability to incorporate this new restaurant concept as we continue to expand is a celebration of how far we’ve come in the past 10 years and a true testament to our continued growth as a whole.”
