Restaurants and their communities can show their support for the industry by signing an electronic petition calling for a tourism recovery plan from the federal government in tandem with the 2021 federal budget.

Restaurants Canada is circulating the petition to its members and all Canadians. At the end of December, Conservative MP and Special Advisor to the Leader on Tourism Recovery, Tony Baldinelli, sponsored an electronic petition that calls upon the government to present a tourism recovery plan on or before the 2021 federal budget.

While we continue to call on the Government of Canada to work with us toward coordinated national action for the food-service sector’s recovery, we also welcome solutions brought forward from Members of Parliament from all parties, the association said in a news release.

The deadline to sign this e-petition is Feb. 7, 2021, at 5 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. Information and background is available from Restaurants Canada.
