Sept. 6, 2012, Edmonton – Alberta’s chefs and cooks will be showing off
the latest culinary trends and ideas at the 2012 Alberta Foodservice
Expo, Sept. 9 and 10 at the Edmonton Expo Centre.

Sept. 6, 2012, Edmonton – Alberta’s chefs and cooks will be showing off
the latest culinary trends and ideas at the 2012 Alberta Foodservice
Expo, Sept. 9 and 10 at the Edmonton Expo Centre. While the expo
spotlights food trends, culinary excellence is not the only thing on the
menu – educational seminars, an industry reception and a fashion show
are all on offer.
 
Special features at this year’s expo include:
 
Second annual Hot Competition Live!
Chefs of all levels – from students to professional chefs – showcase
their secret recipes and cooking skills over two days as they vie for
the top spot in their categories.
 
Culinary stage demonstrations
Four established chefs from some of Alberta’s finest restaurants
(Fantasyland Hotel’s L2 Grill, Murrieta’s Edmonton, Zinc Restaurant and
ASNA) demonstrate the technical skills required to make various culinary
delights.
 
Education sessions
Industry experts – from lease consultants to safety advisors – present five education seminars over two days.
 
Industry cocktail reception and award celebration
In a networking reception, the expo hosts its annual Alberta Foodservice
Industry Awards to honour the foodservice industry’s talented
professionals.
 
Local/organic farmers' market

Alberta’s premier local and organic producers give attendees a taste of
unique and delicious foods and beverages with a home-grown twist.
 
Industry fashion show
Models show off what’s new, stylish and practical for today’s foodservice industry workers.
