"to-go," suggests data shared by mobile payment company Square.

The company has shared insights into Canada’s culinary preferences gained through its recent survey of more than 10,000 Canadian orders. The results suggested the following:

  • Canadians are 421 per cent more likely to order their food for-here versus to-go.
  • Participants ordered bacon over sausage by 361 per cent, chicken over beef by 54 per cent and spicy over mild by 13 per cent.
  • 79 per cent of all beverage orders were for a medium-sized drink.

Square sells an application that allows Canadian sellers to customize ordering options and apply them to toppings, add-ons or special requests
from customers.
