Chef Stefano Faita launches Italian sauce line at IGA


Montreal – Montreal restaurant owner Stefano Faita has joined forces with Sobeys to offer a line of four Italian tomato sauces under the banner Stefano Sauces.

Faita operates Impasto and Pizzeria Gema in Montreal with chef Michel Forgione. He has developed four flavours: Arrabiata, Tomato Basil, Marinara, and Rosée.

The sauces are made in Quebec with a short list of quality ingredients, Sobeys said in a news release. Those ingredients are Italian tomatoes, olive oil and sea salt. They contain no preservatives, sugar or tomato paste.

The sauces are on shelves at IGA, IGA extra, Les Marchés Tradition, and Marché Bonichoix stores at a retail price of $5.99 per 660-millilitre jar.
