win as Canadian Pizza's Chef of the Year with a dessert pizza.

Oct. 28, 2014, Mississauga, Ont. – Carlo Raillo has topped off a second win as Canadian Pizza's Chef of the Year with a dessert pizza.

Raillo, corporate chef at The Parlour Italian Kitchen & Bar in Edmonton, won over judges for the second year in a row with his Cappuccino Pizza, which featured chocolate pizza dough and coffee pastry cream.

The runner-up was Vito Dachile of Enoteca Mozza Pizzeria Moderno, who presented Pizza Cotto, which featured prosciutto cotto and baby arugula atop the pie.

Fernando d'Agostino of That's Italian Ristorante in Woodbridge, Ont., took third place with his pizza, The Sidernese, highlighted by buffalo mozzarella and Parmigiano Reggiano.

Raillo and Dachile will compete at Pizza Expo in Las Vegas in March.

The competition, held at the Canadian Pizza Show on Oct. 27, was platinum-sponsored by Saputo Foodservice and gold-sponsored by Moretti Forni.
