Las Vegas – Canadian pizza chefs dominated the Traditional Division’s International section at Pizza Expo in Las Vegas in March.

First place went to Joe Leroux of Amadio’s, Mississauga, Ont., with a score of 10.45. Anthony Taverniti of Ristorante Rosina in Toronto took second place with a score of 9.55. Third place went to Andy Huynh of Cowabunga Pizzeria, Hamilton, Ont., with a score of 9.25.

Talent and competitiveness run in the family as Allison Leroux of Amadio’s placed second in the Non-Traditional Division’s International section – and fourth overall in the Non-Traditional – with a score of 14.15.

More notably, Allison Leroux won the Largest Dough competition that is part of the acrobatics competition. Her score was 95.65 competing in a field of 23 entrants. And she did it all between writing university exams!
