Campaign aims to support Venice following flooding

Italy – The Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has launched a global campaign in support of Venice, Italy, following some of the worst flooding to affect the city in the last 50 years.

Italy has declared a state of emergency in Venice after the city was engulfed with record high water levels, flooding its historic basilica, filling St. Mark’s Square and multiple historical buildings, putting the whole city and its citizens at risk, while causing incalculable damages, the Italian Chamber of Commerce shared in a message to its members and the public.

The Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has launched a global campaign in support of Venice in order to raise emergency funding and provide immediate relief to its citizens as well as contribute to a timely restoration of the art treasures and historical sites of the city.
