Nov. 26, 2013, Toronto – Emanuele Saputo, chairman of the board at Saputo, was selected as one of the Canadian Business Hall of Fames’ 36th class of companion inductees, with a formal celebration on May 15.
The hall of fame also announced that Peter Brown, founder and honourary chairman of Canaccord Genuit; and Donald Smith, founder, former president and CEO of EllisDon (posthumously) were selected as inductees.
Each year the Canadian Business Hall of Fame recognizes and celebrates the lifetime accomplishments of Canada’s business leaders. These three business leaders are being recognized for their business excellence, outstanding professional achievements and enduring contributions to Canadian society.
“It is my great pleasure to announce these exceptional Canadians as inductees for their personal accomplishments and the legacy they have created for future generations,” said L.R. Wilson, chancellor of the order of the Business Hall of Fame, in a prepared statement. “On May 15, we will honour these three outstanding individuals for the significant contributions they have made to Canadian business and society.”
This year’s class of companions will formally be inducted into the Canadian Business Hall of Fame at the 2014 Gala Dinner and Induction Ceremony on May 15 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.
