Style® fully cooked chorizo products.

July 29, 2008 – Nevada, Iowa – Burke Corporation has announced the launch of two new Hand-Pinched Style® fully cooked chorizo products under its Tezzata® brand: Hand-Pinched Style® Chorizo Sausage and Hand-Pinched Style® Chorizo Pork Topping.

Foodservice and industrial operators now have more choices to conveniently add heat and Latino flair to their cuisine. In 2003, Burke introduced its Tezzata Chorizo Topping, a fine crumble for maximum coverage and even distribution throughout any menu item or frozen food entrée. Burke’s two new products will feature an authentic blend of seasonings to offer the same distinctive, tangy flavor found in its original chorizo product, but with the generous meaty appearance of a handmade topping that Burke’s Hand-Pinched Style is known for.

“Our new Hand-Pinched Style chorizo products pair the random-shaped look you get when cooking with raw meat with the safety of being fully cooked,” says Liz Hertz, marketing director of Burke Corporation. “And Burke’s chorizo couldn’t be easier to use-simply measure the amount you need, thaw and add Latino zing to your favorite recipes without waste.”

Made from premium-quality pork, the new all-meat chorizo sausage and light-extension chorizo topping are ideal for premium and signature items, and perfect for adding authentic, flavorful heat across the entire menu.

Tezzata Chorizo Sausage and Toppings are ideal for a variety of menu applications and retail convenience foods-including pizza, chili, burritos, nachos, quesadillas, soups, sandwiches, chili con queso and other signature items. All three products are fully cooked to reduce labor and training costs while providing easy use and portioning. They are individually quick-frozen to maintain freshness and shelf life and are packaged in two 5-pound packages per case. As with Burke’s entire product line, custom solutions bulk packaging and private labeling are available.
