
Boston Pizza provides hot meals and assistance in Fort McMurray wildfire relief efforts

News boston pizza fort mcmurrayMississauga, Ont. – Boston Pizza restaurants across Canada have launched relief efforts to assist first responders, volunteers and all those affected by the wildfires in Fort McMurray.
The company has been actively working with the Edmonton Emergency Relief Services and the Government of Alberta’s Emergency Operations Centre to determine the most impactful way to support those affected by the tragedy, Boston Pizza said in a news release. The company will issue more than $400,000 worth of food vouchers redeemable at all Boston Pizza restaurants in Alberta. The individual and family meal and drink vouchers will be distributed across the evacuation centres in Edmonton and surrounding areas and will give families and communities a chance to come together at Boston Pizza restaurants during such a difficult time.
Through Boston Pizza Foundation Future Prospects, donations will be collected at all Boston Pizza restaurants across Canada, with the Foundation matching proceeds up to $25,000. The funds will go towards the relief and rebuild efforts in Fort McMurray.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with our Boston Pizza franchisees, employees and all the residents affected by the fires in Northern Alberta,” said Mark Pacinda, president and chief executive officer, Boston Pizza International, in the release. “In true Boston Pizza spirit, we have had an outpouring of interest from our franchisee and supplier community wanting to help those affected by this natural disaster.”
