June 3, 2009, Richmond, B.C. – Boston Pizza International
Inc. is introducing 15 new items to its menu on June 8, including its
first-ever multigrain pizza crust and a prime rib burger.

The new BP Prime Rib Burger is the first burger ever featured
on the Boston Pizza menu. The half-pound, 100 per cent Canadian prime rib
burger is served with fresh lettuce, tomatoes, red onion, pickles and a secret
ingredient – a zesty sauce that adds an extra zip.

“Our BP Prime Rib Burger has been 45 years in the making,”
says Matthew Hoag, corporate chef, Boston Pizza International Inc.  “We
took our time to develop a truly great tasting, juicy burger – and for burger
connoisseurs, the BP Prime Rib Burger is a must try.”

Another menu first is the multigrain pizza dough available
on all of Boston Pizza’s 20 pizza selections. The multigrain dough is a
higher fibre option to Boston Pizza’s original pizza crust.  All dough is
made fresh in-store daily and hand-pressed to offer guests a gourmet pizza
experience.

“In response to our guests looking for lower sodium options,
we’ve reduced the sodium in our signature pizza sauce by 25 per cent and are
working with our suppliers to cut the salt in many more of our dishes,” says
Hoag.

“The Pepper pizza is a new pie that is really spicing up the
menu,” says Hoag.  “It’s made with spicy chili pepper pizza sauce, pizza
mozzarella, cheddar, green and red peppers, banana peppers, taco beef and
finished with a dollop of guacamole and sour cream.”

The Pepper pizza was designed by Boston Pizza employee
Trevor Price from Welland, Ontario, who was the winner in Boston Pizza's 2008
staff recipe contest.

Among the new menu items launching nationwide (with some
regional variances) are: Twist Bread, Southwest Potato Skins, Cajun Shrimp
Pizza, The Pepper Pizza, Greek Salad, Baja Salad, BP Prime Rib Burger, Chicken
Parmesan Sandwich, Roasted Vegetable Lasagna, Teriyaki Rice Bowl and Lava Chocolate
Cake.

“We are constantly striving to balance the changing
expectations of our guests in terms of taste and quality with the nutritional
profile of our menu items,” affirms Hoag.  “For guests looking for
healthier options, we’ve launched three new Health Check items to our Delicious
Alternatives menu: Citrus Chicken Salad, Chicken Stromboli, and Spicy Garlic
Chicken Pizza.”

All Health Check menu options have been approved by the
Heart and Stroke Foundation’s Registered Dietitians who have reviewed the items
to ensure they meet the specific nutrient criteria recommended by Canada’s Food
Guide.

Boston Pizza’s Kids Menu also offers fresh, healthy and trans-fat
free options including Baked Salmon, Grilled Chicken Sandwich and Chicken
Fingers. Healthy, kid-approved sides include tossed salad, garlic mashed
potatoes, steamed vegetables, Jell-O and a reduced-sugar fruit cup.
