Mississauga, Ont. – To celebrate the launch of its annual BP Kids Card fundraiser, Boston Pizza Foundation Future Prospects is searching for Canada’s Top Five Role Models.

Canadians can nominate a special person who made an impact on their life by submitting their story through Instagram (@bostonpizzacanada) or via direct message on Facebook (@bostonpizza). The top five entries will then win a BP pizza party for 10 people, to celebrate their role models, Boston Pizza International said in a news release.

In addition to the contest, Canadians across the country can help support role modelling resources for Canadian young people through Boston Pizza Kids Cards, which are available in all Boston Pizza restaurants across Canada and online at BostonPizza.com from Aug. 21 to Oc. 1, 2017, and can be redeemed until June 30, 2018. For a minimum donation of $5 to BPFFP, each BP Kids Card is good for five free kids meals at Boston Pizza locations. As an extra bonus, guests can register their Kids Card on their MyBP account online to receive a sixth free kids meal. Since it began in 2006, the Kids Card promotion has generated more than $5.8 million in donations, helping Boston Pizza Foundation provide 200,000 hours annually of valuable time with role models for Canadian youth through charity partners including Big Brothers Big Sisters, JDRF, Kids Help Phone, Live Different and the Rick Hansen Foundation.

“One in three Canadian children don’t spend enough time with positive role models and having the right person to look up to can make a lasting, positive impact on the life of a child in need,” said Cheryl Treliving, executive director of Boston Pizza Foundation Future Prospects, in the release. “Boston Pizza Foundation Future Prospects has raised and donated more than $24 million since its inception to help provide children and youth across the country with the guidance and the inspiration they need to succeed. Last year, our popular BP Kids Cards fundraiser generated a record one million dollars in donations, thanks to the support and generosity of our franchisees, staff and guests across Canada, and we hope to surpass that record this year.”
