A new book on restaurant human resources management is designed to teach restaurateurs how to connect with their staff, rebuild relationships, and better manage systems and processes.

Restaurant Operator’s HR Playbook explores several concepts related to restaurant human resources, building an argument that leadership and human resources processes will provide more long-term benefit to your restaurant than will a trendy concept or a great location.

Included are tips on the following:
-creating a culture that attracts the right talent
-prioritizing relationships with your team to motivate and engage them
-incorporating hiring practices that set expectations early and reduce turnover
-identifying employees who have the skills to be managers and leaders
-tracking employee performance and knowing when and how to start developing skills or take corrective action
-becoming an employer of choice and improving your long-term success

The book is written by restaurant human resources specialist Carrie Luxem, founder of Restaurant HR Group. It will be published in February and may be pre-ordered.
