The Pizza Wine Company, an Australian-based vineyard, has tapped into the continually growing North American pizza market to produce an innovative beverage specially developed to match the variety of flavours found in pizza – Pizza Red.
Pizza Red offers a non-traditional, non-intimidating beverage that makes drinking wine with pizza fun for everyone. This new beverage style is intended to create a whole new sub-category that will enable retailers and restaurateurs to offer something unique that can add more value and margin to their pizza sales.
Pizza Red is available in two sizes: 375ml – A convenient size (perfect over a meal) of three generous glasses, packed into three bottle packs and priced between $5.99 – $6.99 US per bottle; and 750ml – an ideal size to share with friends and priced between $7.99 – $9.99 US per bottle.
Three entrepreneurial Australian siblings, Eliza, Angela, and Nicholas Brown, have developed The Pizza Wine Company. The siblings are members of a family that has had a passionate interest in Australian wine since the mid 1800’s. The vineyard, situated in Wahgunyah, is within the famous North-East Victorian wine-growing region in Australia.
The Pizza Wine Company attended the International Pizza Expo in Las Vegas in March 2006 and has since established distribution in approximately 22 American states.
“And we are currently working on distribution in Canada,” Angela Brown, managing partner, reassured Canadian Pizza magazine last month.
