Alcohol sales up in West, stagnant in East: StatsCan

April 14, 2014 – Statistics Canada’s latest annual data
indicate alcohol sales rose 2.2 per cent to $21.36 billion, a slower increase than the 3 per cent advance recorded in the
previous 12-month period. The data showed a
regional discrepancy, with the figures suggesting a
two-speed economy in Canada with a fast-growing west picking up the
