Salinas, CA – California oven manufacturer Forno Bravo has updated the Intertek certification in Canada of its wood- and gas-burning commercial pizza ovens and wood-burning residential pizza ovens.

The ETL and Warnock Hersey listings indicate that Forno Bravo pizza ovens have been thoroughly tested to meet industry standards for the United States and Canada, Forno Bravo said in a news release. The pizza ovens have been Intertek certified in Canada since 2007.

“We want to emphasize to our Canadian customers and dealer partners that they can be confident that Forno Bravo pizza ovens meet safety and sanitation industry standards when planning installations,” said Tim Cole, chief operations officer of the manufacturer.

The Intertek listings cover Forno Bravo residential wood fired Casa and Premio Series pizza oven kits and the Toscana and Vesuvio assembled pizza ovens. Commercially, the listings cover all wood and gas fired pizza oven kits and assembled pizza ovens.

Canadian building code CSA B365-10 requires that any solid-fuel burning appliances and equipment be installed and certified by a WETT (Wood Energy Technology Transfer) certified technician. Forno Bravo pizza ovens that are installed indoors or attached to a dwelling or outside structure, such as a pergola, are required to have a WETT certified technician install the oven, the company said. Free-standing outdoor pizza ovens are exempt from the requirement.

The wood-fired pizza ovens are available for direct sale worldwide through Forno Bravo or through its dealer partners. The company sells the hand-made refractory pizza ovens in a variety of models and sizes for homeowners, restaurants, bakeries, pizzerias and mobile caterers.
