April 27, 2015, Toronto – Pizza Pizza customers will now be able to order pizza from their wrist, as the company announces the launch of its app for Apple Watch.

The chain is among the first brands to introduce an app for Apple Watch.

The Pizza Pizza app for Apple Watch, one of the first to offer food ordering, is based on the company’s app for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad models. It was first launched in 2011 in partnership with Plastic Mobile, and has seen well over half a million downloads to date, the company said in a news release. The app received a Webby Award, just one month after its launch, for best shopping tool for a handheld device and continues to delight customers.

“We have been on the forefront of innovation since we started delivering pizzas back in 1967,” said Paul Goddard, president and chief executive officer of Pizza Pizza Limited, in the release. “Apple Watch represents the next wave of convenient solutions for our customers, and we are thrilled to be part of this evolution.”
