Marjorie Upon, president of Your Bag Lady, recently announced a new insulated take-out bag for pizza called PizzaHot. The bag is a resale item for pizzerias, and a unique way to market loyalty.

“This is the first pizza take-out bag that holds one or two 18-inch pizza pies, three 16-inch pies, or one 20-inch pie and keeps them hot – at 160° F – for up to 30 minutes,” said Upton, who has headed the company since 1991. Since most people choose a place for take-out pizza that’s less than 30 minutes from their home, they can now take it home and “eat it hot right from the box.”

“The bags are reusable and washable, and since the oil from the pizza can’t seep through the bag, it also keeps the car seat clean.
At a suggested resale price of just $2.95, if you factor in delivery and tips, the price of a bag pays for itself after just one or two uses,” Upton said. “We also think they make novelty and useful gifts for pizza lovers.”

The minimum order from pizzerias for the stock design only bag is 200 bags, and the individual pizzeria store’s name, address, and phone number can be imprinted on orders of 400 bags at a small additional charge, and a free in-store display is provided.

“Since the bags are reusable, we think that builds store loyalty as customers have the store name and phone number in front of them when they call to order,” Upton said.

New size for Dri-Pie

aDexmet Corporation has expanded the range of product availability for its patented, Dri-Pie pizza box liner. Now available in 14-inch square sheets to fit larger pies, Dri-Pie is a three-dimensional plastic sheet on which the pizza is elevated to prevent soggy crusts.

This FDA-approved, plastic sheet has an open diamond pattern that’s similar to the grating used by chefs to keep food from getting soggy by lifting it out of the juices that form. Dri-Pie’s diamond openings drain oil and moisture away from the crust and provide air circulation to preserve crispiness. The ability to deliver a dry, crisp pizza is even more critical for low-carbohydrate and thin crust pizzas. Pies may be cut directly on top of the material and it resists heat up to 400˚F.

Dri-Pie is sold in standard-sized sheets in bulk packages of 200 pieces per box. Standard sizes are now: 14" x 14", 12" x 12" and 9" x 9". Volume discounts are offered and distributor inquiries invited.
