September 2, 2010 - October
is national pizza month, which makes it extra fitting that a group of
independent pizzerias have decided to take on the chains with the intention of
making October 10 the first Independent Pizzeria Day.
A Facebook page has been started to support the effort and
can be found at htt://www.facebook.com/IndependentPizzerias. The day will be billed as 10-10-10 with participating pizzerias challenged to
offer a promotion to battle the $10 chain pizza.
Well, I know what I’ll be eating on October 10. This is a
great initiative by independent pizzerias and if you’re one reading this, I
hope you’ve already linked on the Facebook page and plan to participate. There
is power in numbers and with the internet, anything can go viral. Help spread
the word!
