Study looks at the habits of Canadian wine drinkers
Written by www.newscanada.com
It seems there is more than meets the eye when it comes to the old adage “Canada the Good,” particularly where wine enjoyment is concerned. In fact almost one-third of Canadian wine drinkers admit to cheating and straying from the rules - while playing board games, that is - according to a recent survey conducted by Angus Reid Strategies.

While there isn't much to thank the economy for these days, one thing the recession is helping Canadians do well is set the mood for a night in. The study found that three in seven (44 per cent) Canadians say they are having entertaining in with friends and family more this year than last year. And, while some areas may be suffering, board games are thriving as 16 per cent of survey respondents said they are playing more board games over last year – with white wine drinkers playing the most (26 per cent).

The survey, which polled more than 1,000 Canadian adults, compared their tastes in wine to their lifestyle habits. Among those less-honest game-players, Cabernet Sauvignon drinkers were found to be the most likely to cheat while playing a board game (41 per cent) followed closely by Merlot (31 per cent) and Sauvignon Blanc (32 per cent).

Not only do wine-lovers like to get tied up in knots on the twister mat, more than one-third of Canadians like to get frisky with a glass of wine in the bedroom. White wine drinkers prove to be the most frolicsome of them all.
