New walk-in digital alarm
 Master-Bilt unveiled its new optional MBWA-1 digital walk-in alarm and light management system at the National Restaurant Association Show last month.
The new factory-installed MBWA-1 replaces less accurate mechanical thermometers, separate alarms and light switches with one unit.
The MBWA-1 is designed to help eliminate the two biggest energy wasters on a walk-in: leaving the door open and leaving the lights on. It has both an audible and a visual alarm to warn when the door is left open while a timer, adjustable from 1 to 255 minutes, shuts off the lights automatically.
The MBWA-1 also features a temperature alarm system that can be set to warn for both high and low temperatures and automatically resets when the temperature returns to its normal range. The keypad temperature readout can be programmed to display interior temperature from one second to four and a half minutes after the door is shut, to avoid false alarms.
