Dispatch system uses algorithm to streamline delivery

Dragontail Systems’ Algo Dispatching System uses a patented algorithm to manage the food preparation process from order to delivery.

Algo fully automates and streamlines the kitchen flow to deliver a significant return on investment to fast food and quick-service restaurants, the company said in a press release.

The dispatching system starts the optimization process before the orders are even shown to the cook for preparation. No more “First In First Out”. Instead, the system chooses the best order to present for preparation so that orders will be grouped already in the kitchen in the most efficient way and prepared just in time for pickup by the driver.

The optimization algorithm is capable of running on any low-end hardware that exists in the store already, according to the company’s website.

The system takes into consideration factors such as driver availability, the exact location of each driver, the time the order arrived, the number of items in an order, the number of active orders and weather conditions.

The system is designed to promote efficient labour allocation, reduced chargebacks by customers, increased customer retention and increased sales volumes.
